Why land-based?

Our facilities, that are built into a container, can with great advantage be put in extension of land-based fish farms using the excess water high in nutrients to grow high-quality seaweed. The result: an efficient and stable production of a high-value product, while simultaneously creating natural resources.

What is an R&D container?

An R&D container fits those who needs to do some research prior to doing further investments. The container includes a pilot setup with 24 uniform bioreactors and 8 bioreactors in various sizes for a gradual scale-up.

What is a DBO container?

A DBO container is a tailored solution, where we design, build and operate the facility for you.

What is a Valuefarm?

The Valuefarm has many similarities with the DBO, as it also a tailored solution, but the most significant difference is that the Valuefarm is fully automated.

What about the geographical location?

Our containers can be placed anywhere in the world, but preferably in prolonging to a fish farm, as the excess water from land-based fish farms functions as a source of a regenerative production.

Who is operating the production facilities?

The R&D and DBO models are manually operated. Typically, Pure Algae will train your personnel to manage the facility.

The Valuefarm on the other hand is fully automated and requires very little operation.

What are the measures of the production facilites?

The production facilities are built in a closed 40 ft container. We tailor our systems to the customers, so if you have specific requirements, please get in contact with our team.

What are the operating costs for a production facility and what expenses must I expect?

The answer depends on various parameters such as your location, the quality and temperature of your water, what specie you want to work with, etc.
We standardize the units for uniform and comparable data results, but the final solution must be tailored to each client to reach full production potential and ensure a highly efficient facility. Therefore, that price will depend on your specific needs. Get in contact for a non-binding offer.

What is the production capicity of a Valuefarm?

The production capacity of the Valuefarm has an expected potential of 2400 kg wet weight per container per year. The number is well-documented in a study from Aarhus University.
