Pure Algae develops and delivers reliable, modular production systems for hatchery facilities and land-based seaweed cultivation, enabling emission capture and utilization, while ensuring the optimal quality of seaweed according to our customers' needs

The Earth’s natural resources are short, and we cannot continue to consume them at a pace, that prevents it from being regenerated quickly enough, while also emitting climate- and environment-damaging waste products.

This is were it all begin for Pure Algae; the idea of developing a technology, that allows for a production of large quantities of seaweed without depleting the sea’s natural resources. We see it as our finest task to help maintain biodiversity in the oceans while addressing some of the issues that may arise when moving production ashore.

Pure Algae works with two bottom lines: the economic (financial) and the green (the green agenda). We wanted to prove, that a company can pay attention to both, without having the sustainable initiatives overruling the economic outcome.

That is why we are the first company in Denmark to develop a controlled land-based facility where you can grow seaweed of the highest quality all year round, in a climate- and environment-friendly manner – both for land-based production and for hatchery and nursery facilities.

Seaweed cultivation is still a new field within the aquacultural sector. Breaking down some of the barriers that can make it difficult to move seaweed cultivation from sea to land must therefore be addressed.

By bringing together scientists and the industry, we are on the right path to a common sustainable future.
